Join this unforgettable Christian tour to Washington DC with Jack Graham
A Note From Jack Graham
Dear Friends,
As a pastor and a grateful American, I have always had a deep appreciation for the spiritual heritage and founding principles of our great nation. The story of America is, in many ways, a story of faith: of men and women seeking liberty not only politically, but spiritually. That’s why I’m thrilled to invite you to join me on a very special journey: The Patriot Tour to Washington, D.C., as we celebrate the 250th birthday of the United States of America.
Together, we’ll explore many of the most powerful and meaningful sites in our nation’s capital—places such as the U.S. Capitol, the Lincoln Memorial, Arlington National Cemetery, Mount Vernon, the Museum of the Bible and more. We’ll walk through history, stand where great leaders once stood and reflect on the foundations of freedom that were inspired by biblical truth.
Throughout the tour, I’ll open God’s Word and share messages that connect the spiritual legacy of our past with the urgent hope we have for the future. This will be more than a sightseeing trip. It will be a time of spiritual enrichment, meaningful fellowship and patriotic inspiration. I truly believe this will be an unforgettable experience, and I hope you’ll consider joining me. You’ll be encouraged, challenged and uplifted as we celebrate God’s blessings on this country and pray together for the days to come.
Let’s experience this milestone moment in our nation’s history together.
In Christ Alone,
Jack Graham

If you’re already thinking about what to bring, fall in the District is usually lovely with warm daytime temperatures that can reach into the 70s and cool mornings and evenings in the mid-50s. Spring is also balmy, with temperatures in the 70s, whereas summer can be hot and humid, with temperatures in the 80s. Winter months get fairly cold and cloudy (expect temperatures in the 40s and 50s).
Below is a checklist to help you pack for your exceptional travel experience. Remember to bring any medications you need in a carry-on bag.
Packing Checklist
- Casual clothes including pants, jeans, shorts, T-shirts, collared shirts or blouses
- Light sweater or jacket
- One nicer outfit for any special meals or occasions
- Light raincoat or compact umbrella
- Comfortable walking shoes or sandals with rubber soles
- Hat, sunglasses and sunscreen
- Toiletries, in a sealed, clear bag inside your luggage
- Minor First Aid care items such as Band-Aids, aspirin, hand sanitizer, etc.
- Medications in their original containers
- Hair care appliances (see information on Using Electronics)
- Small bag or backpack for port days; large enough to carry your camera and other personal items

Packing Tips
Make certain your suitcase closes and fastens securely. Mark your luggage and carry-on bag with your name and address so you can distinguish them easily. We also recommend you put identification information—name, address and phone number—INSIDE your luggage in case the luggage tags are lost in transit. We also suggest keeping your essential toiletries and a one-day change of clothes in your carry-on. Do not pack your passport or travel documents in your luggage. It is suggested that you keep a color copy of the information page of your passport inside your luggage if your passport is lost.

Most hotels are equipped with a hair dryer for your personal convenience. If you prefer using your hair appliances, you may want to consider bringing more compact and travel-friendly models.
You may want to bring a travel adapter if you are traveling from outside North America. The power sockets in your DC hotel room are type B, with a standard voltage of 120 V and a standard frequency of 60 Hz.

Here are a few ways to make the most of your Washington, DC tour:
Transfers
With so many different ways of arriving in Washington, DC—including 3 airports (DCA, IAD, BWI) and train—arranging a transfer to your hotel is best achieved by taxi or other car services. Our tours may include group transfers to and from a certain airport, so please check with your Inspiration Reservation Coordinator before making alternate transfer plans.
Hotel Stays
Remember that you can always arrive earlier or stay later to lengthen your trip. Inspiration can help book your hotel a few days before the tour or extend your stay after the tour if you speak with a Reservation Coordinator in advance of your tour.
Extending Your Stay
It’s hard to see everything in DC. It would take 258 years to view each Smithsonian exhibit for one minute. We recommend spending another day at the Museum of the Bible or visiting one of the many celebrated DC museums that aren’t on your tour itinerary. Staying longer will also give you time to explore the capital’s award-winning culinary scene. Here are a few articles with the top experiences we recommend:

As you plan for your upcoming tour with Inspiration, you may be wondering about using money and credit cards during your travels. We’ve made the following recommendations to help you save money, avoid unnecessary fees and focus on an exceptional travel experience.
- Consider leaving all unnecessary credit cards at home.
- Once you determine which cards you’ll bring, remember to notify each credit card company of your intended travel dates and locations to ensure fraud alerts and holds are not placed on your accounts.
- For each card, you’ll want to store the bank’s contact information in a separate, secure location in the unlikely event your wallet or purse is lost or stolen.
Almost all businesses in Washington, DC accept credit or debit cards. Using your credit card for large purchases gives you more protection for the items you buy on your trip (you can look at your credit card statement to verify all of your purchases).
If coming from outside the United States, we recommend checking the exchange rate before arriving. While most local banks will exchange currency for a fee, using a debit card to withdraw U.S. Dollars from an ATM typically offers the best rate (in addition to an ATM fee). Traditional currency exchange stores like Travelex are also located in the DC area.

While you’re traveling with us, we make your time as carefree as possible by covering all tips and gratuities associated with your tour, including hotel bellmen and housekeepers, as well as your guide and motorcoach driver. If you visit various restaurants apart from the tour or take a taxi on your own, remember to include gratuity.
The general guideline for restaurant service workers is 15% of the bill and 20% or more to acknowledge excellent service.
