A Norwegian cruise offers a seamless way to explore multiple destinations without the inconveniences of hotel check-ins, packing and unpacking, or searching for good dining options. Enjoy the ease of travel and excellent service that enhances your exceptional journey.

Cruise lines simplify gratuities by automatically adding a daily service charge of $16-$25 per guest for dining and stateroom services, with an additional 15-20% for purchases like beverages and spa treatments. Prior to the end of the cruise, the Cruise Director will address more specific questions regarding tipping procedures.

If you decide to take a taxi to the pier, it is not common practice in Norway to tip cab drivers. If you want to tip you can simply add a few Kroners when paying your tab.

Porters are available at the pier to assist with your luggage as you arrive for embarkation. Tipping is optional but not required. If you do choose to tip we suggest 6 NOK per bag (equivalent to $1 USD).

When visiting restaurants off the ship and during shore excursions, many hotels and restaurants in Norway will add a service charge to the bill, and an additional tip is unnecessary. In a restaurant (if a service charge has not been added) 15-20% of the total bill before taxes is appreciated for service workers to acknowledge excellent service.
