Packing Tips for Washington D.C.
Already thinking about what to bring on your upcoming Washington, D.C., tour? Fall in the District is usually lovely with warm daytime temperatures that can reach into the 70s and cool mornings and evenings in the mid-50s. Spring is also balmy, with temperatures in the 70s, whereas summer can be hot and humid, with temperatures in the 80s. Winter months get fairly cold and cloudy (expect temperatures in the 40s and 50s).
Remember to check the extended forecast before you depart. We’ve provided the checklist and information below to help you pack for your exceptional travel experience.

Help With Electronics
Most hotels are equipped with a hair dryer for your personal convenience. If you prefer using your own hair appliances, you may want to consider bringing more compact and travel-friendly models.
If you are traveling from outside North America, you may want to bring a travel adapter. The power sockets in your D.C. hotel room are type B, with a standard voltage of 120 V and standard frequency of 60 Hz.
Packing Tips
Make certain your suitcase closes and fastens securely. Mark your luggage and carry-on bag clearly with your name and address so you will be able to distinguish them easily. Your personal luggage tags can be used for this purpose or you may use paper tags available at airline check-in counters. We recommend you put identification info (name, address and phone number) INSIDE your luggage in case the luggage tags on the outside are lost in transit. It is also suggested that you keep your essential toiletries (in 3.4 ounce containers if flying) and a one day change of clothes with you in your carry-on.
