Seeing Jerusalem for the First Time

Our bus played Chuck’s introduction to Jerusalem with the song, “Jerusalem, Jerusalem, Lift up your voice and sing Hosanna to your King” just as we rounded the hill and Jerusalem and the Dome of the Rock came into view. It brought me to tears. I never thought I would live to see this city that God loves and where Jesus walked, taught, performed miracles, was crucified and rose again. It was definitely my Ha chet-zi moment (“we didn’t know the half of it” from I Kings 10:7).  This is the trip of a lifetime and a dream come true.
